Since I started this project of writing and meditation every day in August, this is the first day that was a real struggle. I slept through my alarm, only getting up when Alexa reminded me to feed Callie. Then, after I made lunch and grabbed a monster, I completely forgot to do anything other than dive back into my book.

I did remember a little while later, so after I finished the book, I meditated, but struggled to stay awake, so I am not sure how useful the practice was. But i did it, all 35 minutes…even though it was a struggle.

But I still had nothing I wanted to write about. Still don’t…but again, I think that it’s important to show up for yourself, especially when that isn’t easy. So, this is me, showing up.

Part of the issue, I think, is that I got s jacked into a series of ‘sorting games’ from ads on Facebook, and that sucked up literally HOURS of my Monday night. I’m so susceptible to getting trapped under all the dopamine that those game toss my way—I just want to play ONE MORE and then I’ll get back to my book, my writing, my meditating, my cooking.

I’m not a fan of telling myself that I should be doing things differently, but there were certainly healthier choices that I could have made.

I’m deleting them now because I obviously can’t just play one.

I’m also kind of hating the next two library books, so I keep putting them off…but I am almost out of time, so I may have to just…not read them. Which feels like a waste of a borrow, but my librarian tells me that any borrow is a good borrow as far a funding goes, so I’m trying not to feel too guilty.

Now, I am going to decide what to read next, but first, the good stuff:

I read 282 pages yesterday, wrote my journal entry and meditated for 35 minutes. I was very grateful for those old-school cake-decorating letters that come on a card, as I had a cake to decorate (for FL’s birthday) and I am quite shit at writing on cakes.

Love y’all.
