Dogs vs Cats

First, I just like animals. All of ‘em. I like sloths and I like monkeys and I like turtles.

But I think that there is something special about Dogs and Cats. And I have had both, two dogs in my life and seven or a hundred c ants (it’s hard to tell which ones were mine, and which ones were “family”cats and which ones were part of the family and which ones were strays just grateful fr a warm police to light for the night.)

My first husband said that kittens were better than puppies but dogs were better than cats, and I can see that logic. Puppies are hard to train, and impossible to control, until you get them trained. And see above re: hard to train.

But once they are trained, they can be glorious. I had such a dog once.

But cats…I think that in the end, cats are where my heart lies. I will never have another dog. I hope to have many, many more cats.

And that I likely will never get to snuggle a BIG cat—a tiger or a lion or a leopard—is one of my biggest regrets. I mean, I see these videos of cats sleeping with park rangers and I wonder where my life went so awfully, awfully wrong.

And right now, my chonkasaurus of a cat, Calliope, ALA Princess Pudgy Pants, has the zoomies…and it’s not unlike watching a sumo wrestler run a 100 yard dash. Hilarious and a little terrifying.
